There were plenty of meat (such as chicken and goat) and vegetable (such as spinach paneer, string beans, eggplant) dishes. We arrived a few minutes after it opened (Noon), and a line for the buffet had already formed. We found such a place at this restaurant. Sit-down diners could take off masks, but the tables were distanced.If you want a great meal, especially before heading south on Amtrak's Vermonter to New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, or Washington, DC, then the Bombay Royale is an excellent choice.My wife and I, who now live in southwestern New Hampshire, had planned a day trip on a weekday to Northampton, starting with a good Indian buffet. Servers kept masks on, and take-out orderers did as well. They were also careful about distancing and masking. We'll be back, and take family and friends. The servings were large enough that we took a bag home with us for lunches the next day. The sauce was definitely hot, but not inordinately so.
The lamb itself was outstanding-four double rib chops, accompanied by a delicious sauce with tomatoes, onions and peppers.
It came accompanied with rice and vegetables, which were good. I ordered the rack of lamb with onions and peppers. She said that the lentils were delicious, and the lamb was very tender and tasty, and went well with the rice. My wife had the lamb kebabs with bismani rice, along with some lentils. overly fast with the service, but this was because of the obvious care that they took in preparing the food. The service staff was pleasant, and took our order promptly. The atmosphere was pleasant, but nothing extraordinary. It looked like they were doing a healthy take-out business.
